Thai Lesson 87: Letter - Japan earthquake -- ภาษาอังกฤษ บทที่ 87: แผ่นดินไหวที่ประเทศญี่ปุ่น

On March 11, 2011, there was a major earthquake in Northern Japan. The news of this earthquake has spread all over the world. This is a letter from a concerned friend in Thailand.

I feel bad about the incident in Japan which has killed many people. In addition to that there is radiation leakage. I hope that you are not affected by any of the radiation and that you are safe. The news said that there was an earthquake in Kobe too. The econonomy has fallen. There is a shortage of food and water. I hope that Thai and Japanese people can get through this crisis quickly.

เด็กผู้ชายที่อยู่ในรูปภาพคือหลานชายของฉัน เขาชื่อพลับ นี่เป็นครั้งแรกที่เขาได้ไปเที่ยว เขาชอบทะเลมาก เขาเล่นน้ำทะเลจนตัวเปียก เขาถามฉันว่าน้ำทะเลทำไมเค็มจังเลย ฉันตอบว่า อ๋อ... มีเรือบรรทุกเกลือล่มกลางทะเล ก็เลยทำให้น้ำทะเลเค็ม

The boy in this picture is my nephew. His name is Plap. This was the first time he had gone on a trip. He really liked the ocean. He played in the water and got wet. He asked me "Why is the water in the ocean so salty? I told him, "Umm, there was a ship filled with salt and it sank so it made the ocean water salty."
